SIF/Growth Fund Representative

Last Friday, Jessica Ramirez notified the Executive Board that she was resigning from the Staff Union Executive Board, due to her decision to leave employment with CWA. Jessica was an integral part of the Board and 2022 Contract Negotiations. We thank Jessica for her tireless work over the past few years and wish her well in her future endeavors. 

Article 17.4 of the SU Constitution states, "A vacancy in the position of the At-Large SIF/Growth Fund Representative shall be filled by the Executive Board and shall serve only until the next regular membership meeting."

Today, the Staff Union Executive Board voted to appoint Akeyia Johnson to the Executive Board.  Before coming to work for CWA, Akeyia worked for AT&T for 14 years as a member of Local 6507.  Akeyia currently works in District 3 as a Campaign Lead in organizing. 

Backpacks Update

The company shipping all of the backpacks belatedly advised us they are shipping out the backpacks in batches.  Here is the current status:

• Quantity Coming - 23 on June 17, will ship on June 19

• Quantity Coming - 31 on June 20, will ship on June 23

• Quantity Coming - 60 on June 21 , will ship on June 23-26

• Quantity Coming - 44 on June 26, will ship on June 30-July

Keep an eye out for your backpacks, and if you have moved in the past few months and need it shipped to a different address, please let us know immediately.  Thanks for your patience on this.
